Yeah.
Right.
I remember walking past one of his businesses–a second-floor massage parlor above an X-rated theatre* on Market between 21st and 22nd–on my daily commute and seeing a fellow in a wheelchair leaving the place with a big smile on his face (I’ve always wondered how he got down the stairs, which were on the outside of building).
More power to the guy in the wheelchair, but really, developer?
The antics of “developers” too often cause me to develop hives.

*As I recall, the movie that was playing was The Immoral Majority. For some reason, that name stuck with me.
“An Armed Society Is a Polite Society” 0
Be polite to the family when visiting friends.
Prescott Valley police say the shooting occurred just after noon Friday. The 35-year-old man, identified as Justin Stanfield Thomas, and his young son were visiting from Phoenix and were at a friend’s house.

Shocked! Shocked! I Say 0
Well, not me. I expect the worst from the Cooch.
But this judge:
Ricin Beans, a Selection from the Wingnut Cookery Book 0
Take one gallon stupid.
Stir in one pound ground castor beans.
Place in envelope and garnish with postage stamp.
Serves 10 (years in the Big House).
The Other Cheek 0
Wilkie Collins, in The Moonstone, Part 29:
Miss Clark affectionately reminds Mr. Franklin Blake that she is a Christian and that it is therefore quite impossible to offend her.
The self-styled “Christians” we have in the States seem to delight, no, wallow in, even seek out, offense.
Then, again, theirs is a religion of “an eye for an eye.”
I forget.
Is that in Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John?
Oh, yeah, it was Hammurabi.
Zero Tolerance, Zero Sense 0
How stupid do you have to be to qualify for a job as “school administrator”?
Seriously.
Inquiring minds want to know.
Here’s a link to the story at their local television station.

And now for today:
A Pickup Mall Game 0
On April 11, Barton and his group were asked to leave Arden Fair when some women complained after being contacted by his students, said Steve Reed, chief of mall security.
“The line is crossed when there is a complaint,” Reed said.
This fellow went to the mall yesterday, not to pick up, but the get picked up by the cops as an act of civil disobedience.
Mall management played it smart; in the absence of any complaints, they ignored him.
Aside:
Words have meaning.
“Picking up” a woman is not the same as “meeting” one.
Don’t get me started on a skeevy business based on teaching manipulation.
Dis Coarse Discourse 0
I’ve participated in my share of protests over the years.
Shouting at someone in mid-sentence may be a lot of things–it may even sometimes be warranted–but I really don’t see how it can be considered “having an ‘open conversation.'”
Afterthought:
Why do some of my fellow lefties seem to think that the way to get what they want is to alienate potential allies?
