Afterthought:
I recently was at an event where a concealed carrier advanced the argument that only a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun and that, after all, “only umpty-ump children have died” and everything else was drug wars and mayhem and so on and so forth.
I did not want to get into it, so I refrained from asking, “How many times has a good guy with a gun stopped a bad guy with a gun?”
Whatever the number of bad guys with guns stopped by good guys with guns may be, I am certain that it is far fewer than umpty-ump.
