A question that comes to me from time to time: Is white supremacy (as distinct from nationalist or ethnic prejudice) a white thing, or is it a peculiarly white British Isles thing, perhaps fed by the geographic insularity of the British Isles and spread through colonizers from the British Isles, voluntary or (as in the case of Australia) involuntary?
Certainly white supremacy was invented by British settlers in the American colonies in the 1600s and 1700s so as to justify chattel slavery; on that the historical record is quite clear.
Were I an academician looking for my next publish-or-perish book, this would be my topic.
