Politeness is a family value.

Investigators ultimately learned that two young brothers had engaged in a “brief struggle” over a handgun when the firearm accidentally discharged, striking the teenage boy, according to according to Unified police detective Kevin Mallory.

Citizens on site began to provide medical assistance, but the 17-year-old passed away by the time medical crews and police officers arrived, Mallory said.

Parent politely.

Kayden and Bekki Gunter had just returned home Thursday afternoon when she put her purse on her bed and went into the bathroom, Tim Gunter said.

Inside her purse was a teal-colored Glock pistol.

Within seconds, (two-year old–ed.) Kayden managed to unzip the purse, pull the weapon from a holster within the purse and pull the trigger, Tim Gunter said.

W. Edwards Deming:

The supposition is prevalent the world over that there would be no problems in production or service if only our production workers would do their jobs in the way that they were taught. Pleasant dreams. The workers are handicapped by the system, and the system belongs to the management.

Moore of the Same 0

At AL.com, John Archibald notes that Roy Moore is again going to run for the Republican Senatorial nomination. As he reviews the field opposing Moore, Archibald reaches a distressing conclusion:

I thought Roy Moore would have to see the light one day, that he would have his own come-to-Jesus moment and realize his brand of judgment and one-dimensional morality wouldn’t play in a twenty-first century world.

Boy, was I wrong.

Because Roy Moore already won.

Phone Spurs 0

This is weirdly disturbing and disturbingly weird. SeattlePI reports:

New research in biomechanics suggests that young people are developing hornlike spikes at the back of their skulls – bone spurs caused by the forward tilt of the head, which shifts weight from the spine to the muscles at the back of the head, causing bone growth in the connecting tendons and ligaments. The weight transfer that causes the buildup can be compared to the way the skin thickens into a callus as a response to pressure or abrasion.

The result is a hook or hornlike feature jutting out from the skull, just above the neck.
