E. J. Montini suggests a motive for Trump’s firing (so far five) Inspectors-General.

If you never allowed yourself to be examined by a doctor would that mean you’d never get sick?

That’s how Donald Trump wants to run the federal government.

Another responsible gun owner discharges his responsibilty.

Officers arrested a 36-year-old man who was allegedly firing a gun as he drove a pickup truck through San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood on Saturday, police said.

Around 10:30 p.m., officers learned someone was driving recklessly near Clay Street and Presidio Avenue, doing “donuts” and firing a gun.

Aside:

There’s been a who-shot-john (you will pardon the expression) going on in the letters to editor of my local rag about gunnuttery. It’s been both amusing and predictable.

In line with Sam Seder’s comment that I cited earlier this week,

That’s the Trump strategy in a nutshell: If we don’t have evidence, there’s no way for people to know about it . . . .

now comes Florida Man (much, much more at the link):

The woman who created and ran Florida’s online coronavirus data site has been removed from her job, just days after she said she fought the state Department of Health’s efforts to make the data harder to access for the public, researchers and the media.

Rebekah Jones, whose work to build the user-friendly COVID-19 Data and Surveillance Dashboard drew praise and publicity, said her commitment to maximum transparency resulted in her removal from the dashboard project.

I’ve removed a post that I mistakenly posted earlier today because it was out of sequence (hard as it may be to believe, sometimes a little planning–not much, but some–goes into this thing). It will reappear later in sequence.

To say that man is a reasoning animal is a very different thing than to say that most of man’s decisions are based on his rational process. That I don’t believe at all.
