Last night we watched a movie we had DVRed*. As a matter of course, we keep closed captioning turned on.
I have become convinced that many studios use AI tools to create closed captions these days. I offer as evidence this line from the said movie (I’m doing this from memory, so I may not have it exactly word-for-word):
D’Artagnan was strutting like a peaXXXX.
It reminds of another line I saw recently, I forget in what show or movie, which went something like this:
It wasn’t a squirrel. It was a racXXXX.

*By the by, it was a fun movie. Imagine, if you will, The Three Musketeers Meet the Three Stooges, though no actual Stooges were in it.
And I didn’t know that Don Ameche could sing like that!
