Misdirection Play, Show Us Your Papers, Please Dept. 0
The writer of a letter to the editor of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette sees through the smoke screen.
Aside:
Methinks the reason some Republicans and their dupes, symps, and fellow travelers are so interested in the affidavit is to find out who had the unmitigated gall to tell truth about Trump to law enforcement.
But I’ve always been accused of being a bit cynical . . . .

Mangy comments at the Youtube page:
Equal protection under the law is a basic tenet of American democracy. That means, regardless of your social, economic or professional position, if you break the law, you will be held to the same level of accountability. Unfortunately, the rich and powerful have become so imbued with a sense of entitlement, that they believe this should NOT be the case for them. Trump is the textbook example, firmly believing that, no matter how egregious his actions, he should be excused because he is rich and has a golden toilet. This idea is echoed by the propaganda arm of the Republican party, Fox News, who tries to make this VERY democratic idea seem threatening to average, law-abiding Americans, when, in fact, it is only when this idea is abandoned that average Americans are imperiled.

I’m not generally a big fan of Jonah Goldberg, but, in his analysis of Donald Trump’s hold over his cultists, I think he may be onto something.

A Der Spiegel correspondent who has lived in Moscow for 14 years describes how what he refers to as “my Moscow” has changed since the Putin the Wannabe Great’s invasion of Ukraine.
It is well worth a read.
The Unsound and the Furious 0
Noz explains why Donald Trump’s claim that he “secretly declassified” classified documents that he had no legal right to declassify is disconnected from reality and the rule of law.
But law and reason will make no difference to the Trumpettes, who are committed to the rule of flaw and the politics of hate.
We are in parlous times.
The Rule of Flaw 0
Will Bunch disagrees with those Republicans who are screaming hysterically that the legal serving of a properly-approved search warrant on Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Largo property was somehow an atrocity. Quite the contrary, indeed.
Here’s a little bit from his article (emphasis added):

Know Them by the Company They Keep 0
My local rag takes exception to the decision by Virginia’s Governor Trumpkin and Virginia Beach House candidate Kiggans to condemn the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the search of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Largo property under the power of a legal warrant. From the editorial:
In going off half-cocked, Youngkin and Kiggans have some distasteful company.
