GI Statue, Philadelphia, Pa., Korean War Memorial, Foglietta Plaza. A citizen has added the rose, no doubt taken from one of the hundreds of rose bushes in the Penns Landing and Society Hill areas.
Sun setting behind Society Hill Towers.
Fore and aft views of the C-6 Olympia and SS-319 Becuna. The Olympia is the oldest steel warship in the world.
The tall ship Moshulu, now permanently moored and as a restaurant. The restaurant burned in 1989 at Penns Landing, was sold and rebuilt, and reopened in 1996 at Pier 34. It returned to Penns Landing in 2002. I dined there in the early 80s during its first sojourn at Penns Landing. The inset shows one of the moorings.
U. S. Customs House. It now houses a number of agencies, including the Passport Office. There is a gorgeous walk-in vault in the Passport Office, now used for storing office supplies, that clearly dates from the customs days.
