Ya think people are finally figuring out that paying not even a subsistence wage to millions and millions of people is no way to run a country, the inference being that we don’t have one. but rather something that exists just squeeze the last bits of gold from the mass? And explain it all by saying that hundreds of millions just don’t have the skills.

No, I don’t.  I lean optimistic, but not that optimistic.

I think people are into “Always lower prices” and don’t care how they happen.

I don’t understand that anymore. How could prices possibly go any lower? It makes no sense. If there is purpose to a nation it is to take steps to make a world where the stupid group beliefs of people do not become dictation for all process in the land, that there are grownups who say not paying people for work = good = lower prices is an equation that cannot be balanced in a civil society and therefore we are erecting standards so that it is not used. I have books that make it very clear. If you pay people more money in the middle and bottom they spend more because, basically, they have to.  So if you raise their wages they can spend more for hamburgers because the mass production of hamburgers allows one to raise the price of them less than the increase in wage and people must still eat. That destruction of standards, in this case living ones — is at the heart of what is the American tragedy. When there are no standards, why is there even government? That’s what we have, virtually no government on anything that matters except for a national security megaplex, the latter of which has no relevance to everyday life of just trying to get by.

I didn’t say it makes sense.
