This Could Spell the End of Television as We Know It 2

If every advertising lie were prosecuted, there would be no advertising.

Jurors deliberated for less than an hour Tuesday before finding Kevin Trudeau guilty of criminal contempt in weeklong trial during which prosecutors accused the TV pitchman of lying in infomercials to boost sales of his diet book.

Why do I have the song “It’s the end of the world as we know it” going through my head. It would be a turn around if all the pitchmen had to tell the bald truth in their ads/infomercials.

AFAIC, the worst offenders are the drug companies.  My friend and I enjoy Wheel of Fortune because of the wordplay.  I like puns; she’s an editor and loves words.

But the drug commercials!  Big Pharma is determined to turn us all into druggies.
