Why do I have the song “It’s the end of the world as we know it” going through my head. It would be a turn around if all the pitchmen had to tell the bald truth in their ads/infomercials.

AFAIC, the worst offenders are the drug companies. My friend and I enjoy Wheel of Fortune because of the wordplay. I like puns; she’s an editor and loves words.
But the drug commercials! Big Pharma is determined to turn us all into druggies.
