“An Armed Society Is a Polite Society” 0

Yet another “responsible gun owner” performs a random act of politeness.

The investigation quickly led police to the room next door. Investigators say 31-year-old Shermarcus Cockran had just returned from a gun range and was cleaning his firearm in Room 225 when it went off. The bullet traveled through the shared wall, striking the teenager while he was playing video games.

One more time, “responsible gun owner” is an oxymoron.

Aside:

I have long thought that, in gun nut world, “cleaning” is a synonym for “fondling.”

I have cleaned guns. It’s something to do in a workshop or a garage or, failing that, a kitchen, not in a motel room.

Finally, this is website is a hobby. It's a hobby in which I am deeply invested, about which I care deeply, and which has enabled me to learn a lot about computers and computing, but it is still ultimately an avocation, not a vocation; it is certainly not a money-making enterprise (unless you click the "Donate" button--go ahead, you can be the first!).
