Artificial? Yes. Intelligent? Not So Much. 0

In San Francisco, driverless cars are providing persuasive evidence that drivers are a valuable resource.

  • The use of social networks is associated with body dissatisfaction and disordered eating.
  • Viewing and uploading photos and asking for negative feedback seem particularly problematic.
  • The parental role in ensuring their children’s safe and helpful use of social networks cannot be understated.

There’s nothing healthy about a culture which values self-promotion above all else.

I do not think it an understatement to suggest that “social” media provides incentives that encourage persons to draw attention to themselves with statements of questionable veracity.

Twits Own Twitter 0

Microsoft is pulling back from Twitter, and Elon Musk is not taking it gracefully. A writer at Techdirt pulls no punches:

. . . why would any business feel comfortable trusting important business to Twitter when the company’s owner and CEO acts like a petulant child in response to a company not wishing to pay his extortionate fees?

This is why Twitter is failing. Elon Musk himself is a liability. He’s the one driving advertisers and partners away.
