Self-politeness is the politest kind.

By the time they arrived, Kraft was dead from a single gunshot wound to his hand and chest from a .308 caliber rifle.

Investigators determined Kraft was attempting to remove the rifle from the back seat of his pickup when the rifle fired, striking his hand and chest.

Whatever happened to “don’t transport a loaded gun”?

For that matter, whatever happened to “engage the safety”?

Or “don’t point the gun at anyone, including yourself”?

Cleanliness is next to politeness.

The man told police he had accidentally shot his friend as he was cleaning the weapon, the report noted. A witness also told police she was hanging out in a bedroom as the man was cleaning the handgun.

(snip)

“He advised that he was cleaning the gun and removed the magazine. He advised he then checked the magazine and did not see a bullet inside,” the report noted. “He then advised he pulled the trigger so that he could disengage the slide to remove it. He advised that once he pulled the trigger, the gun went off.”

The story also mentions that he was so caught up in fondling his portable penis cleaning the gun that he did not realize the woman was shot until he heard her screams.

Be polite as you complete your last-minute Christmas shopping.

The injured man was shopping at Dollar Tree, located on the border of Franklin and Ravenna Townships off Route 59, when a gun he was carrying apparently discharged.

“It was completely accidental,” Myers said. “The gentleman was actually very embarrassed about the whole situation.”

A quibble: “Accidental” is a less than optimal synonym for “stupid.”

Respect the politeness.

Cousins who witnessed the shooting said one of them brought a legally purchased gun to the party – where attendees had been drinking – to “show it off,” according to Bellevue police reports. The owner of the gun placed the weapon on the kitchen table and Chavez Bedolla picked it up to admire it. He then became angry at the victim and told him, “You disrespected my wife” before shooting him twice in the chest, court documents indicate.
