The hunt for politeness bags another trophy.

A Baton Rouge man was fatally shot in a tragic hunting accident on Saturday morning when another hunter shot him as he hid behind a deer at Sandy Hollow Wildlife Management Area in Tangipahoa Parish, officials said.

In a post on Facebook, the LDWF said Roberto Garcia, 61, was hit by a .45-caliber muzzleloader around 8:45 a.m. The shooter claimed he was aiming at a deer and did not realize Garcia was behind the animal due to dense vegetation.

Once again, someone decides to play with a portable phallus and is taken aback when it discharges upon someone else.

Another oxymoronic “responsible gun owner.” Another child.

When officers arrived on the scene, they saw a 7-year-old child lying on the couch in the living room with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to her upper left thigh.

The complainant, the child’s mother, told officers that she, the victim and two others were laying in a bedroom watching television.

She said she didn’t know how her daughter gained access to the firearm because it was supposed to be secured underneath the mattress.

Methinks “mattress” and “gun safe” are not synonyms.

So many guns. So much stupid.

Houston Police Department officials say several family members were in the apartment at the time of the accident. An adult family member slipped on the tile floor, and the fall caused him to drop his gun. A curious 7-year-old boy picked up the firearm and unintentionally discharged the weapon into his right forearm.

Yet more evidence that “responsible gun owner” is a nonsensical phrase . . . .

Celebrate the holidays with politeness.

A car wrecked while transporting a girl to the hospital after she was struck by gunfire from a bullet that police believe was fired as part of a Christmas celebration.

(snip)

The girl was walking with her mother outside of an apartment complex when a stray bullet from celebratory gunfire hit her in the leg.

One more time, “responsible gun owner” is an oxymoron.

Yet another “responsible gun owner” isn’t.

A tragic accident unfolded in southwest Harris County when a 3-year-old boy unintentionally shot his mother. According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the toddler managed to access a firearm left on the console of a vehicle and discharged it, injuring his mother.

So many guns.

So much stupid.

Once again, politeness become child’s play.

A 5-year-old girl is clinging to life after police in Washington D.C. say her 3-year-old brother grabbed an unsecured gun from inside the family’s home and shot her while playing with it.

So many guns. So much stupid.

Words fail me.

An initial investigation showed that the victim showed up at the home with a semi-automatic handgun.

He and three other minors were passing the gun around to take photos and videos for social media when one of them pointed the gun and accidentally fired a shot, hitting the victim.

The stupid. It burns.

And we are again reminded that “social” media isn’t.

All the News that Fits 0

Newsman: Our top story this hour--the man who allegedly shot an insurance company C. E. O. on the street in cold blood is in custody. Newswoman: It's certainly a top story, Biff. Newsman: That it is, Wanda. And if we were so inclined, we could use this horrific incident as a springboard to example multiple, seemingly intractable problems facing contemporary American society. After all, this is story when the casual prevalence of gun violence intersects with our completely broken health insurance system, all within the context of an increasingly dysfunctional socioeconomic structure which prioritizes billionaires and corporate profits over basic human necessities. (Pause) I'm kidding! Obviously we're not talking about any of that! Newswoman: Ha! You had me worried for a moment there. Newsman: Next--can we somehow blame this shooting on video games? Newswoman: We can certainly try.

Oh, my. It looks like another gun fired itself (emphasis added).

A man and his mother are recovering from injuries considered not life-threatening after a gun accidentally fired inside a residence Friday night.

Also, pigs, wings.

Guns don’t fire themselves.

Let me decode de code: “accidentally fired” translates to “someone accidentally negligently fired.”

The police and press, in wording their reports, need to stop letting “responsible gun owners” off the hook when said “responsible gun owners” (clearly seem to) have failed to exercise their gun ownership responsibly.

Furfu.

Yet another oxymoronic “responsible gun owner” shows his politeness after a minor contretemps on the concrete.

The boy and his two siblings were on their way to school with their grandfather this morning when a minor traffic accident turned into a shooting.

“My papa made a turn and the man he was speeding… granddad hit his car… it was a small dent and the man just got out and started shooting,” Jackson said.

We are a broken society.

More brotherly politness:

According to the search warrant application, the victim’s 12-year-old brother partially pried opened a gun case secured by a gun lock and slid out a Sig Sauer P365 .380-caliber pistol.

The boy began playing with the gun when it accidentally discharged, striking his sister in the back, police said.
