As I have frequently noted, politeness is child’s play.

“Preliminary investigation revealed three brothers were inside the residence upstairs while adults, including the parents, were downstairs in the home,” a spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said. “It is believed that one of the boys retrieved a gun from another room and fired a gunshot, striking victim in the head. The gun was recovered inside the residence. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are being investigated.”

The distraught family told local news outlets they believe the 5-year-old was likely looking for candy in a dresser drawer and stumbled upon the gun, perhaps mistaking it for a toy. The firearm was kept holstered in one of the top drawers and belonged to Jermon’s father, Jericho Perry, who had a concealed carry permit, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

If the seven-year-old had been packing, he could have returned fire and certainly no one would have gotten hurt because more guns in NRA paradise.

Play politely.

Under questioning, the other two people in the car told police they’d been handling two guns they thought were unloaded.

They were “just playing” with the weapons when one of them went off, Roberts said.

“The person that shot him says it was an accident,” he added, though he didn’t clarify who is believed to be the shooter.

Once again, a news report misplets “negligently.”

One man had a single gunshot wound through the hand and another had a gunshot wound through the leg. Police say they believe both injuries were caused by a single round that was accidentally fired.

The hunt for politeness continues apace.

Wilson recalls seeing Hutto line up the shot with his barrel facing directly at the turkey —and in turn, at him. He thought his friend was just getting his target ready so he could get the bird when it took a few steps away from Wilson.

He was wrong. Hutto shot twice.

Play politely.

According to the report, the man’s wife said that she had been in her back yard when she heard a single gunshot.

The woman said she went to the front yard where her husband had been playing with their two sons.

Initially the man did not think he had been shot, the reports says, but he soon noticed blood on his pants and felt pain in his leg.

When deputies interviewed the man at the hospital he said he and his sons had been running races around their house while he was wearing a pistol with a new holster. According to the report, the man said he clipped the edge of a camper parked in his yard as he ran by, causing the gun discharge.

We are a society of stupid.

You can’t make this stuff up.

The victim of the self-inflicted gunshot said he had gone to the room he had at his place of employment and sat on his bed. He had forgotten he hid his weapon between the mattress and springs, which caused the weapon to fire and the bullet to graze his buttocks.

Fetishists Protest Destruction of Their Totem 0

From today’s local rag (more at the link):

When Karen Mallard posted a video of herself sawing her husband’s AR-15 rifle in half earlier this month, she was promoting her campaign for Congress and demanding tougher gun laws after the Parkland, Fla., massacre.

(snip)

Thousands of gun-rights advocates nationwide left angry, sarcastic and sometimes profane comments on her Facebook and Twitter accounts. They argued she should be locked up for illegally converting the weapon into a short-barreled rifle. As of Tuesday, her video had been viewed more than 3 million times, with more than 49,000 leaving comments.

Aside:

“Gun-rights advocates” is “firearm fetishists” misplet.
