Provide child care politely.

County police said officers were called to the 3000 block of Bellamy Way in Suitland, Maryland, around 6:40 p.m. They said a victim was shot in the upper body and taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Investigators said it appears to be an accidental shooting. Police said a babysitter, 33, was the one who shot the boy and was the one who took the victim to the hospital.

. . . just another day in the NRA’s Garden of Eden.

Afterthought:

Had the child been packing, no doubt he could have returned fire so as to amplify the politeness.

The hunt for politeness continues.

The group had completed a drive (hunting for pheasants–ed.) and was taking a break when the incident took place. The DNR report added that the discharge was caused by the gun falling over.

The injured hunters were taken to the Audubon County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. They were treated and later released.

. . . just another example of responsible gun owners being responsible.

Highly-trained politeness.

A Mesa Police Department crime scene specialist accidentally shot himself in the hand and injured two other officers who were clearing a scene Tuesday night, police said.

The incident happened at a house as the specialist was processing a firearm as evidence, Rasheta said.

The hunt for politeness continues and another gun that fired itself.

Police said Powell had returned home from hunting earlier in the day. Powell was carrying the pistol in a shoulder holster on his left side. When he went to remove the pistol, it discharged one bullet, hitting Powell in the chest, police said.

Just another day in NRA Paradise, where responsible gun owners act responsibly.

Investigators say the they are investigating the shooting as an intentional act and not a hunting accident.

They say the horses’ owners returned home at about 4:00 p.m. on the 21st to find one of the horses lying on the ground, dead from a gunshot wound in its heart and lung areas. Another horse was standing next to the body and was found to have a wound in its shoulder. That horse is still recovering.

A third horse was found wounded in a separate area. That horse died the next day from its wound.

Politeness goes to the dogs.

William Rancourt was pheasant hunting on the Boone River Greenbelt Conservation Board Public Hunting Area with three other hunters when he was hit in the back by bird shot pellets from another hunter’s 12-gauge shotgun.

The shotgun was lying on the ground when a hunting dog stepped on the trigger guard. It hit Rancourt in the back nearly 22 yards away. He was taken to Trinity Hospital in Fort Dodge with non-life threatening injuries.

Yet another gun with a trigger finger of its own:

A man suspected of carrying a gun that went off Sunday afternoon at a mall in Orange County is now in police custody (the mope turned himself in–ed.).

(snip)

Investigators say a bullet ricocheted when a gun was discharged into the floor in front of an American Eagle store at the Galleria at Crystal Run mall in Middletown on Sunday.

Investigators say a 49-year-old Goshen woman and her 12-year-old son were hit in the legs. Police said it was unclear if the shooting was intentional or an accident.

Swan song.

The beloved Sunriver trumpeter swan ‘Chuck’ was killed Thanksgiving Day.

Sunriver Police Chief Marc Mills says shooting swans is illegal because they are not considered game birds in Oregon. He also says the incident took place in an area where hunting is not allowed. “We do not believe that it was an accident. It does appear to be a very direct and specific shot, to and or at ‘Chuck,’ that caused his injury. I think it was just cruel, and intentional, and we’re certainly hoping that we can come to some kind of conclusion in the near future.”

Practice random acts of politeness.

Ronald Hicks, 28, was treated at Mercy Hospital Joplin for a wound to his upper leg suffered while hiking with his sister shortly before dusk Friday, according to Newton County Sheriff Chris Jennings.

Jennings said several shots are believed to have been fired in the direction of the hikers by people doing some target shooting on private property nearby. Deputies were able to determine the source of the shots a short time after the incident, which remains under investigation.

The hunt for politeness intensifies.

When sheriff’s deputies arrived to the scene off CR 500 E. in Middletown, they found Stratton lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper right thigh. EMS treated him at the scene before he was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis.

Conservation officers have determined that Stratton’s 12-gauge shotgun had accidentally discharged as he attempted to grab the soft case it was in, which was hanging from a branch next to his ladder stand. DNR says the gun was pointed towards Stratton and the safety was off.

This is why you don’t load the gun until you are ready to use it, for Pete’s sake.

Now, about those IQ tests for hunting licenses . . . .

The hunt for politeness continues apace.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, Darwin Cooley, 50, Carthage, at around 9:30 a.m. Thursday was hunting with his brother-in-law Travis Dam. 42, Whitesboro, in an area north of the village of Whitesboro when Mr. Cooley shot at a deer that ran between the two of them and the bullet grazed the side of Mr. Dam’s head.

The stupid.

It burns.

Park the politeness.

A 19-year-old man is hospitalized with what authorities call life-threatening injuries after being accidentally shot while sitting in a car outside a mall in the central Missouri town of Columbia.

According to the story, he or his friend–which one is unclear–was trying to holster a gun when the fellow got shot. Had it been a two-gun holster, no doubt the this would not have happened, as, in NRA Paradise, more guns is the solution to life, the universe, and everything.

A Chautauqua County woman is dead after a hunter accidentally shot her Wednesday evening while walking her dogs, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies say the hunter believed he saw a deer in a field, near Armenian Road in the Town of Sherman, and fired a shot.

The man told deputies that he heard a scream and immediately went over the the area.

Because hunters have long relied on the strategy of waylaying deer who are walking their dogs . . . .

Practice politeness at home.

Politeness is child’s play.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says it received a 911 call about the shooting from a home in Deer Creek around 7:30 a.m. Sunday. The caller reported a 5-year-old had caused the accidental gunshot wound.

The 3-year-old was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital before being sent to a Minneapolis hospital. Authorities say the victim is stable.

If the victim had been packing, perhaps he or she could have returned fire . . . .

Be polite to your fellow congregants.

The Tellico Plains Police Department says elder members of First United Methodist Church were meeting for a Thanksgiving dinner around 1 p.m. and began discussing the Texas shooting when someone asked if anyone brought a gun to their church.

A man spoke up and said he carries his everywhere he goes. He pulled the gun out, emptied the magazine and chamber, and then started passing the gun around.

Once the gun came back around to its owner, police say the man put the magazine back in and recharged the chamber, but accidentally squeezed the trigger. The gun went off, hitting himself in the hand and his wife in the abdomen.

Had more persons at the meeting been packing, no doubt this would not have happened.

The hunt for politeness goes on.

As the woman was driving her vehicle scouting for deer, she drove over a bump in the road. The gun discharged and she was struck in the foot. Her husband was a passenger in the vehicle and was not injured. GF&P declined to release the name of the injured woman.

Be polite at the dining table.

An incident report said police responded to the North Cedar Street restaurant just before 3 p.m. and found Cynthia Smith, 57, of Goose Creek, laying on a bench after being shot in the buttocks.

Smith, a retired S.C. Probation and Parole officer, had a gun stored in her purse without a holster, and when she moved the purse, the gun went off, injuring herself and Jacqueline Duchene, 48, of Goose Creek. Duchene was shot in the leg.
