As we know, “responsible gun owner” is an oxymoron.

“A four-year-old child who had gotten a hold of a gun that had been left laying out, for whatever reason, accidentally fired the gun, striking his sibling, five year old sibling, hit him in the leg with the gunshot,” Msgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department said.

So, too, apparently, is “responsible parent.”

Yet another oxymoronic “responsible gun owner.” . . . Yet another child . . . .

The child was immediately transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was treated.

CCSO (Clay County, Florida, Sheriff’s Office–ed,) said a preliminary investigation revealed the child found the parent’s handgun and accidentally discharged the firearm. Nobody else was injured.

Just another day in NRA Paradise.

As we all know, politeness takes practice.

At around 5 p.m. on Friday, July 5, the man was shot in the abdomen by a rifle that discharged when another man was attempting to unload it at the George Nourse Gun Range south of Nampa, the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. The man died at the scene after life-saving measures were unsuccessful.

One more time, “responsible gun owner” is an oxymoron.

The pair finished their meals and got the bill, but instead of paying, the man allegedly left the restaurant, and the woman went to the restroom, according to police.

Officials said staff tried to get the man to stay and pay but were unsuccessful. Witnesses told police that when the woman came out of the restroom, she also tried to leave without paying. Staff confronted her, and she allegedly pulled the gun on employees, according to officials.

A struggle ensued, but a staff member was able to pull the gun away from the woman before she fled the scene in a vehicle, according to police.

Celebrate holidays with random acts of politeness.

Trousdale County (Tenn.–ed.) Sheriff Ray Russell said the victim had put her grandchild in the back of the car after the fireworks show. She was talking to someone outside the car when she thought someone hit her with a bottle rocket.

But then she looked down and saw blood coming from her abdomen and realized she’d been shot. The round went right through her. She had to be life-flighted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center but is in stable condition.

. . . and another oxymoronic “responsbile gun owner” performs a random act of politeness.

“That’s where the bullet hit me, in my foot. It messed up my foot. It’s like a laceration right here,” said Alastair Probre, a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy.

Probre says he was shot after the bullet came through his bedroom window around 4:45 a.m.

“We were asleep, knocked out. When I finally realized what was happening, I looked around and saw a hole in the window, a bullet on the ground and blood everywhere. I told my girl to get down because I didn’t know if they were still shooting,” Probre said.

And another oxymoronic (emphasis on the “moronic”) “responsible gun owner” exposes a child to politeness . . . .

Police spoke to witnesses at the scene who said they saw 41-year-old Brian Siegfried handling a handgun while on the front porch of a home. At some point, Siegfried allegedly cocked the gun, put it down and walked across the street.

Siegfried also allegedly told police that he was tired of holding the gun and put it down.

During this time, four toddlers under the age of five were said to be in the direct vicinity of the handgun.

One of the children was able to pick up the gun and accidentally shoot the victim.

Whilst in the merchandise mart, show politeness to your fellow shoppers.

A Kentucky man was shot and killed at a gun store when a firearm being handled by another customer went off, according to Kentucky State Police.

(snip)

The preliminary investigation indicates that a customer was viewing a gun for sale and “manipulating” it when a single round discharged, hitting another person in the store.
