Yet more politeness in transit . . . .

Yet another oxymoronic responsible gun owner comports himself with courtesy whilst traversing the nation’s byways.

Politeness is a family value.

He worships the NRA’s leaden idol.

Yet another oxymoronic responsible gun owner . . . .

Guns and stupid, guns and stupid.
They go together like love and Cupid.
Let me tell you brother,
You can’t have one without the other.

If you have paid any attention to the news, you’ve no doubt heard of the six-year-old who shot his teacher with his mother’s gun. (Here’s the latest as of the time I write this.)

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gene Collier, says, to bluntly paraphrase him, that there’s no surprises here.

Here’s a bit from his column; I urge you to read the rest.

“This,” said Newport News Mayor Phillip Jones, “is a red flag for the country.”

Respectfully, Mayor, you new to this country?

This country did not lose its gun-loving mind last Friday. It took decades upon decades of ill-conceived arguments, millions upon millions of gun lobby dollars, and generations upon generations of gutless politicians to make this a country with more guns than people, a country with less than 5 % of the world’s population holding 40 percent of its civilian-owned weaponry.

. . . and this polite society’s politeness is going to the dogs (along with everything else).

We are a society of stupid.

Yet another driver is polite in passing.

The rot gets deeper.

I do not think it’s much of a stretch to argue that, though slavery is America’s original sin, its fascination with firearms is its Achilles heel.

Politeness once again becomes child’s play.

And thus passeth another life in NRA Paradise.

Celebrate special occasions with politeness.

We are a failing state.

A case of road rage ended the life of a young woman on Tucson’s east side on Christmas Eve.

The Tucson Police Department said Jada Thompson, 21, was killed when someone shot at the vehicle she was riding in it near Speedway and Swan.

Yet another oxymoronic responsible gun owner chooses to be polite in the drive-thru lane.

. . . but be prepared for a jarring experience.

On Christmas Eve, in the true spirit of the NRA’s meretricious marketing slogan, these folks settled their differences with politeness.

Once again, politeness becomes child’s play.

Once again, we are reminded that “accidental” and “negligent” are not synonyms.

Once again, we are reminded that law enforcement needs to learn what words mean.

Afterthought:

As long as “negligence” is classified as “accident,” gun nuts have a “Get Our of Jail Free” card.
