Too bad.

So sad.

A Texas judge threw out the National Rifle Association’s bankruptcy filing on Tuesday, saying the case was filed in “bad faith” in an effort to avoid litigation in New York.

Afterthought:

Many years ago, I worked with someone whose husband worked for the NRA. She was a capable and competent coworker, which is one reason why I remember her.

It was the early ’70s, right about the time the NRA morphed from being a hunting safety group (I actually had a gun safety class delivered by an NRA representative some years earlier during a high school PE class–I grew up in the country and hunting was a thing) to being a munitions marketer.

Sometimes I wonder how my old coworker is doing now after all these years . . . .

The hunt for politeness continues.

A hiker on the Lewis and Clark Trail was accidentally shot by a turkey hunter on Saturday, officials said.

One wonders, was it his feathered tail or his gobble-gobble?

Be polite via Zoom.

A student-organized Zoom lecture about the University of Texas at Austin’s school song, “The Eyes of Texas,” turned frightening when a masked man loaded and brandished a gun in view of some participants.

The Thursday lecture was led by Alberto Martinez, a history professor who says his research shows the song has racist origins, contrary to the university’s position. There have been calls for the university to stop using the song, which made its debut at a minstrel show and is seen by some as tied to the Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee.

Resolve automotive differences politely.

Following the collision, the owner of the parked car approached the other car’s driver. APD indicates the driver took out a gun and shot the parked car’s owner in the stomach.
The owner of the parked car returned fire, shooting the driver in the hip.

The owner of the parked car ran away from the scene but was located by APD officers about three blocks away near the intersection of Montview Boulevard and Galena Street.

The story goes on to report that both men are in the hospital and at least one of them will be charged.

Suffer the children . . . .

Two children were inside a car parked outside Little Caesars on Fowler Street on April 25 when the adult they were with went inside to get dinner just after 7 p.m.

Moments later, several people heard a loud gunshot and saw the car filled up with smoke, according to the incident report.

One of the children, who was under 10 years old, found the backpack in the car with the gun inside. They accidentally shot themselves in the arm and another child, also under 10 years old, in the hand.

Expose your progeny to politeness.

The victim’s brother told police Sibley was playing with the weapon before the victim was shot, according to the affidavit. The brother said he hid in the closet and then heard the shot.

He also told police his father has played with guns before and pointed them at him and his brother. The victim’s sister said Sibley called the police after the victim was shot and said his son had shot himself.

The child is expected to survive.

Concealed politeness.

When officers responded to the home on East 4th Street in Grayson regarding a female being shot, three people allegedly told them someone ran up to the woman, shot her in the stomach and then ran away on foot.

During the investigation, officers later determined one of those three people and the victim were together at the time of the incident. One person in the group had a gun and accidentally shot the victim in the stomach. Police say the group then made up a story about the unknown shooter.
