Stray Question 0

Why are so many persons surprised that the party of the New Secesh today’s Republican Party is acting like today’s Republican Party?

Another Voter Fraud Fraudster 2

Again, I think this is a classic example of projection.

Republicans are willing to cheat, so they believe everyone else is also willing to do so.

Stray Thought 0

T think it can be argued that Republicans are attacking public schools and public school teachers because educated voters are inimical to their intentions.

Leonard Pitts, Jr., muses on what happens when you create your God in your own image. Here’s a bit; follow the link for the rest.

The Bible says God created mankind “in his own image.” But many alleged conservatives invert that. They create the deity in their image, a God who thinks and acts like them, who bears their limitations and biases, their solipsism and illogicality, their mendacity and abiding fear.

And they hold to that false deity with ferocious vigor. Author Eddy Harris once described a conversation with a white woman in Mississippi whose mother belonged to a whites-only church in the 1960s. The older woman was asked whether Jesus would have allowed African Americans to worship in his church. “Of course he would have,” she said, “but Jesus would have been wrong.”

Freedom of Screech 0

Murjani Rawls finds an irony in the right-wing’s celebration of Elon Musk’s promises to make Twitter a bastion of free speech screech.

Isn’t it ironic that speech should be allowed “to exist on a social media platform,’” when all over the country, Republican state legislators are banning race and slavery discussions in schools, books referring to LBGTQ and non-binary identifying people, and talk of what they deem “divisive concepts.”

More irony at the link.

Mangy comments at the Youtube page:

Mangy Fetlocks recently watched a youTube video about what Republican candidates will subject themselves to in order to obtain Donald Trump’s endorsement (an endorsement of questionable value). Candidates must first negotiate with Trump’s “handlers” to be allowed to see The Orange Julius. Then, they must flatter, praise, and ingratiate themselves in any way possible. They are told that colorful pictures and charts about them and their candidacy are suggested, since Trump won’t read anything of length or complexity. Mostly, they must make Trump feel that he is the wisest and most powerful man on the planet, bar none. Mangy feels that all this kowtowing and bottom-kissing should immediately disqualify any candidate from office.

Sam and his crew argue that Marjorie Taylor Greene is not an outlier in today’s Republican Party.

It’s All about the Benjamins 0

Solomon Jones follows the money in Florida’s Disney frenzy. A snippet (emphasis added):

Had Disney simply condemned the “Don’t Say Gay” law in the same way corporate interests make mealymouthed statements about Black issues like voter suppression and police abuse, the fight would’ve stopped there. However, when the LGBTQ community and its own employees expressed outrage, Disney went a step further than most companies do on Black issues. The company promised to cut the flow of political donations.

The Wanna-be Emperor Has No Suit 0

At Above the Law, Liz Dye reports on Hillary Clinton’s lawyers response to Donald Trump’s ludicrous RICO suit. A snippet:

“Plaintiff’s core grievance against Hillary Clinton is the practice of politics, and cannot support this legal claim,” the motion continues, noting that it is bloody rich for Donald freakin’ Trump to complain about mean tweets.

Mangy comments at the Youtube page:

For all their patriotic bluster, it seems Republicans have an incredibly long list of fears and insecurities. Mangy Fetlocks has no problem with admitting to fears, since many fears make total sense. It’s presenting yourself as heroic and fearless when you are nothing but a bundle of insecurities that Mangy feels compelled to call ‘BS’ on.
