This website does not track you.
It contains no private information. It does not drop persistent cookies, does not collect data other than incoming ip addresses and page views (the internet is a public place), and certainly does not collect and sell your information to others.
Some sites that I link to may try to track you, but that's between you and them, not you and me.
I do collect statistics, but I use a simple stand-alone Wordpress plugin, not third-party services such as Google Analitics over which I have no control.
Finally, this is website is a hobby. It's a hobby in which I am deeply invested, about which I care deeply, and which has enabled me to learn a lot about computers and computing, but it is still ultimately an avocation, not a vocation; it is certainly not a money-making enterprise (unless you click the "Donate" button--go ahead, you can be the first!).

A friend of Steve’s here. Being a military spouse and currently a Kansas resident, I feel I must chime in on this.
First of all, it’s ironic that I was just reading about the history of the National Guard and the difference between NG and the Army Reserve. What struck me most was that the National Guard is PRIMARILY under the STATE government, and only secondarily under the federal government. They are the STATE GOVERNMENT’S RESPONSIBILITY, even though they can be called up for duty by the federal government. I’m sorry, but I have to agree with some of the comments on the stories you linked to that it WAS Kathleen Sebelius who should have realized that her National Guard needed more equipment. Just like with Katrina…the federal government can’t go in and help until the state government ASKS for help because state government is sovereign and the federal government isn’t going to just barge in and take over until or unless the state admits they can’t handle it themselves. I have no sympathy for those who STILL complain about the federal government’s “screw up” with Katrina, and it really irritates me that now the governor of my state is trying to blame the federal government for something that she should have done something about, especially with peak tornado season coming. It’s true: if you don’t ask, you don’t get it. I’ve learned that from my husband’s position in the military. You still might not get it, but if you don’t ask then the only person you have to blame is yourself. She’s just trying to blame someone else for her mistake instead of being the respectable human being and taking the blame herself. But then I guess that’s true about most politicians these days.
As for Greensburg itself…my heart goes out to them all. My husband and I have never been there, but our pastor knows many of the parishoners of the Lutheran church that used to be there because he pastored a church 20 miles from Greensburg. He even made an executive decision to start a relief fund from our church for them. Also, good news is that, last I heard, the death toll is one fewer than they’d thought.
Anyway, those are my few cents worth, for whatever they might be worth. Have a great day! 🙂

Keep in mind as you read the news coverage that George Bush and his minions are liars. Their behavior is thoroughly documented in the public record.
Governor Sebelius has frequently made known the needs of the Kansas National Guard, despite the protestations to the otherwise of Tony Snowjob.
This bunch will never forsake an opportunity to make politics of the lives and deaths of American citizens.
I am sorry to have to say this, but the Current Federal Administrator and his minions are Not Nice People.
