In the latest migration to a new virtual private server, some of the links to images in the earliest posts to this blog were broken. If you encounter one of these broken links, please let me know. I have backups and can restore the images.
There’s only one person who agrees with me on everything, and, as I’m not running for office, that person is not on the ballot.

This website does not track you.
It contains no private information. It does not drop persistent cookies, does not collect data other than incoming ip addresses and page views (the internet is a public place), and certainly does not collect and sell your information to others.
Some sites that I link to may try to track you, but that's between you and them, not you and me.
I do collect statistics, but I use a simple stand-alone Wordpress plugin, not third-party services such as Google Analitics over which I have no control.
Finally, this is website is a hobby. It's a hobby in which I am deeply invested, about which I care deeply, and which has enabled me to learn a lot about computers and computing, but it is still ultimately an avocation, not a vocation; it is certainly not a money-making enterprise (unless you click the "Donate" button--go ahead, you can be the first!).
I appreciate your visiting this site, and I desire not to violate your trust.

Ah, the Susan Sarandon thing seems to have brought the best out in everybody, again. The name-calling happens about once a week now. Being called stupid, horribly wrong, or ‘splained that your grasp on reality, history and thinking about politics is intellectually bankrupt in some manner — eh.
I’m going to make a recommendation to buy and read Thomas Frank’s “Listen, Liberal” in the next few days. It has something to say about another Clinton in the White House.
Wenner went for her because the McGovern election and ‘Merica broke his heart. His political columnist, Matt Taibbi, shamed him over it. And then the Booman jumped all over Taibbi. See, I do read these things.
It’s not my responsibility to do my part to see that an undesirable, one putatively from my side and my perspective, gets into the White House. I see reality fine and it’s been pretty bad for the last fifteen years.

I would not consider Dick Polman to be a name caller, but http://thedailybanter.com/2016/03/susan-sarandon-trump-clinton-idiot/. The phrasing is harsh, but essentially accurate, though I might have said it differently.
Then there’s voices of sanity: https://southernbeale.wordpress.com/2016/03/30/you-dont-know-nothin-bout-no-revolution/

I have no truck with persons who are unwilling to vote in the real world, but I don’t like to run about calling names (well, maybe in private, but not in public). Calling names does not win friends, but it does influence people.
Then, on the other hand, http://upyernoz.blogspot.com/2016/03/if-you-can-put-trumps-horribleness.html

Booman, funneling a new linguistic:

There was a sci-fi/fantasy writer whose books I had years ago. He had this phrase, borrowed from someone else: Immanentizing the eschaton.
