Hampton Roads flooded with rain — nearly 8 inches have fallen with more on the way
(Schools are closed because school buses can’t complete their routes. And, no, this sort of stuff did not happen in the olden days when I was a young ‘un growing up in these here parts.)
Addendum, Late that Night:
According to my primitive plastic rain gauge, we’ve now had upwards of 12 inches of rain since Monday afternoon, and it’s still raining as I write this. It’s recorded over 11 inches and I let it go several hours filled to overflowing because I didn’t want to get soaked to empty it.
