A nine year old girl who was shot in the throat Saturday has been upgraded to stable condition. The child was transported to The University of South Alabama Medical Center earlier today by Life-Flight.

The shooting occurred on Riverbend Road Saturday afternoon and is still being investigated at this time as a tragic accident.

The story does not indicate whether the child was practicing politeness on her own or in the company of others.

An argument over food turned fatal Wednesday evening when a 13-year-old boy shot and killed his 6-year-old brother before turning the handgun on himself, according to preliminary information from Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco.

Before killing himself, the 13-year-old also shot and wounded his 16-year-old brother, Nocco said. The 16-year-old called authorities at 6:19 p.m. and was transported from his Hudson home to a hospital with a gunshot wound that is not considered life-threatening.

According to TPD spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Bay, Joahana Martinez was with a group of friends, including her boyfriend, at a house in the 300 block of East Thoroughbred Street, near South Nogales Highway and Irvington Road, when someone pulled out a gun.

Witnesses told police they believed the gun was unloaded when the boyfriend was holding it, Bay said. Witnesses say the gun accidentally discharged, striking Martinez.

Houston resident Kay Hafford, 28, was driving to work Friday when a driver cut her off. Hafford honked her horn, and that’s when the driver of a white SUV reportedly pulled up next to her and shot Hafford in the head and drove off.

. . . the 57-year-old man had been drinking alcohol and was with friends. The man was showing his friends the gun when he took the magazine out of the gun and held the weapon up to his neck and pulled the trigger. The man apparently did not realize there was a bullet in the chamber, and the incident is being treated as an accidental shooting.

Pizzolato went into the basement to secure two pistols into a safe and after checking one of the pistols believing (sic) it to be empty, he pulled the trigger and the pistol fired one round, police say.

A Shelton-area man is under arrest after his wife was shot dead in their home on Monday, Mason County sheriff’s officials said.

The man, later identified as Gary Crandell, 67, called 911 just before 5 p.m. and told dispatchers he was cleaning his gun at his home in the 100 block of SE Evan Boulevard when it accidentally went off and hit his wife, deputies said.

This one is certainly sealed.

A Shelburne man was shot Friday in a mishap at a Charlotte gun range, the Vermont State Police say.

Joshua Scarfone, 19, was target shooting at theLaberge Gun Range off of Lime Kiln Road in Charlotte on Friday afternoon when JoshuaRamstrom, 20, of Hinesburg experienced “a negligent discharge,” Trooper Angela Baker said in a statement.

“Negligent discharge” my anatomy.

Just before 11 a.m., Steven Outlaw confronted Pitts-Devine inside the first-floor stairwell of their apartment building on Spruce Street near 45th in Spruce Hill, a normally quiet section of West Philly.

An argument broke out, and it quickly got heated: Outlaw, 53, pulled out the gun and fired at point-blank range, hitting Pitts-Devine eight times in the torso, the sources said.

He then calmly walked upstairs to his second-floor apartment, closed the door and shot himself in the head. He died about an hour later at Penn Presbyterian, according to police.

Sources say Outlaw had no criminal record, and had a permit for the gun he used in the vicious attack.

According to the story, Mr. Outlaw also had a history of making paranoiac claims about his neighbor’s actions.
