There’s only one person who agrees with me on everything, and, as I’m not running for office, that person is not on the ballot.

A few weeks ago I was working on a fire alarm in a Springfield Housing Authority high-rise. The maintenance engineer and I boarded an elevator shared an elevator with a little old lady. She was probably late 70’s or early 80’s. She said, “Do you guys want to hear my new joke?” I assumed it would be some cute little pun or something, but she went on to tell us a most surprising story about a man who wore black patent leather shoes on a dancing date with his girlfriend…

And he never looked her in the face, right?

Not too long ago, when I was visiting my mother, my aunt, who is 94, insisted on showing me a printout of jokes I would not repeat here.

Not long after Chris & I were married, he met my great-grandmother. Then she floored him, when she got irritated with someone, & sat in her chair, with her Coors in her hand, & pulled out her favorite expression. “Oh ba$$s!” She was 95 at the time. At that age, I believe it gives them a laugh to shock someone. My grandmother did the same thing, different word, minus the beer.
