More on Being Illerate Illiterate 1

Techfun looks into where people get their news (emphasis added):

Television is cited as the primary source of news about the economy by more Americans than daily newspapers, the Internet and radio combined. In addition, more than half of those who primarily receive their economic news from television rate the coverage as good. It fails to answer the question “Good compared to what?” Water cooler talk? E-mails from the ConservativeAlertSystem? Rush Limbaugh?

This is just sad. I don’t care whether it’s the major networks, cable networks, or the Soap Opera Channel. Television’s motto is, “If it bleeds, it leads.”

I guess you can make an exception for Comedy Central. It doesn’t do news, but it does do rational.

Television news suc is less than informative. It is, indeed, the Anti-Informative.

I guess you can make an exception for Fox News also. Reminds me of a story from my first boss. He told me that his own first boss was his best teacher. Whenever my first boss faced a choice, he thought of what his first boss would have done. Then he did the opposite. Works with Fox News also.
