This website does not track you.
It contains no private information. It does not drop persistent cookies, does not collect data other than incoming ip addresses and page views (the internet is a public place), and certainly does not collect and sell your information to others.
Some sites that I link to may try to track you, but that's between you and them, not you and me.
I do collect statistics, but I use a simple stand-alone Wordpress plugin, not third-party services such as Google Analitics over which I have no control.
Finally, this is website is a hobby. It's a hobby in which I am deeply invested, about which I care deeply, and which has enabled me to learn a lot about computers and computing, but it is still ultimately an avocation, not a vocation; it is certainly not a money-making enterprise (unless you click the "Donate" button--go ahead, you can be the first!).
I appreciate your visiting this site, and I desire not to violate your trust.

I’m assuming the carport was detached from the house. That’s what I usually think in association with the word “carport.” It does say the house was damaged, though.
I bring the distinction up because a few years ago, a woman down the street from us grilled some meat in her screened-in, attached patio and left the charcoals in the grill to die out. Instead, after she fell asleep that night, the patio ceiling caught fire and quickly spread into the attic and throughout the house. She was alone that night, (divorced, and her teen son was staying with a friend,) and escaped with not much more than her life.
Insurance paid for a new house right where the old one sat. She fell in love with the general contractor, he moved in toward the end of construction and they are there to this day.

The sad thing is, it seems to happen a lot. And it was their neighbor’s house!

Around here, it’s not uncommon to see attached carports, basically garages without walls or with just a back wall or a back wall and a side wall, that is, the house.
The place where this happened, Pot-Nets, is a manufactured-home retirement community where I would not be surprised if the carport was attached so the developer could get more bang per acre, but I’ve never been there.

I think it has to do with crab pots and fishing nets, both of which are very important in these watery parts.
