The Internet Is a Public Place 1
There was a time when that alone could have ended the police investigation. Not now.
Officers learned that a video of the incident had been posted on YouTube.
You can guess the rest of the story.

In the latest migration to a new virtual private server, some of the links to images in the earliest posts to this blog were broken. If you encounter one of these broken links, please let me know. I have backups and can restore the images.
There’s only one person who agrees with me on everything, and, as I’m not running for office, that person is not on the ballot.

This website does not track you.
It contains no private information. It does not drop persistent cookies, does not collect data other than incoming ip addresses and page views (the internet is a public place), and certainly does not collect and sell your information to others.
Some sites that I link to may try to track you, but that's between you and them, not you and me.
I do collect statistics, but I use a simple stand-alone Wordpress plugin, not third-party services such as Google Analitics over which I have no control.
Finally, this is website is a hobby. It's a hobby in which I am deeply invested, about which I care deeply, and which has enabled me to learn a lot about computers and computing, but it is still ultimately an avocation, not a vocation; it is certainly not a money-making enterprise (unless you click the "Donate" button--go ahead, you can be the first!).
I appreciate your visiting this site, and I desire not to violate your trust.

BUT, there is a flip side.
Yesterday on GMA, there was a woman who banked with BOA. Her interest rate, despite paying her bills on time, was hiked to 30%. She called, she wrote, with no response.
She hooked up her webcam & posted the video on YouTube. Not long after, she got a letter from BOA that her interest rate had been changed to 12.99%.
Sometimes, it does some good.
