Kevin Lee points out that, in NRA Paradise, there is no such thing as the common good.
Meanwhile, Chris Honore takes a tally:
This level of violence separates America from all other advanced countries by a wide margin. Consider just homicides. According to the New York Times, in Poland and England one person per million dies in a gun homicide. In Japan it’s one person in 10 million. In the U.S. it’s 31 per million, or 27 people killed daily. In Chicago, over the recent Father’s Day weekend, 13 were killed and 56 wounded bringing the city’s total homicides thus far in 2016 to 300. If it were anything else (say, the Zika virus), this would be considered an epidemic of catastrophic proportions.
