In the latest migration to a new virtual private server, some of the links to images in the earliest posts to this blog were broken. If you encounter one of these broken links, please let me know. I have backups and can restore the images.
There’s only one person who agrees with me on everything, and, as I’m not running for office, that person is not on the ballot.

This website does not track you.
It contains no private information. It does not drop persistent cookies, does not collect data other than incoming ip addresses and page views (the internet is a public place), and certainly does not collect and sell your information to others.
Some sites that I link to may try to track you, but that's between you and them, not you and me.
I do collect statistics, but I use a simple stand-alone Wordpress plugin, not third-party services such as Google Analitics over which I have no control.
Finally, this is website is a hobby. It's a hobby in which I am deeply invested, about which I care deeply, and which has enabled me to learn a lot about computers and computing, but it is still ultimately an avocation, not a vocation; it is certainly not a money-making enterprise (unless you click the "Donate" button--go ahead, you can be the first!).
I appreciate your visiting this site, and I desire not to violate your trust.

I’m not seeing how this misery justifies the contempt or the kind of lesson the blogger or you seem to believe it does.

The point was that the way the heroin epidemic is being treated by law enforcement and the media is *way* different from the way the crack epidemic was treated by law enforcement and the media. Now, what’s the difference between the two? Hint: One group is black, one group is white. I was not so much proposing that the heroin epidemic be treated the same way the crack epidemic was (with demonization of white people, stop-and-frisk checkpoints in white neighborhoods, anti-fraternization “loitering” laws to apply whenever more than 2 white people gather in any given location, etc.), as I was proposing that drug use in the black community be treated with the same sensitivity and kindness as drug use in the white community.
In other words, I was pointing out a racist double standard.

I thought it a marvelous bit of snark that highlighted how quickly we put persons in boxes because of race, sex, etc.
As much as I try to stop myself from doing so, I still find myself sometimes so doing.

Your point, one obscured by your ability to convey it.
