No Room at the Inn, Reprise 0
When I got up yesterday morning, my friend was quite put out by the newspaper story on the recent Supreme Court’s inane ruling against New York State’s restrictions on the size of religious gatherings in these viral times. (I would add that New York’s rules did not single out religious organizations; rather, those organizations desired to be excepted therefrom.)
I fear that my reply was most callous and included something about suicide pacts and Kool-Aid.
I cannot escape the suspicion that the they-call-themselves-religious organizations who complain about the limitations on gatherings are more concerned about collection plates than they are about communion plates.
But I’m just a cynical old man who’s seen too much of life.
