Republican Family Values, Maskless Marauders Dept. 0
I know that I am not the only one to notice the irony in the “Right-to-Life” party’s willingness to court infection and death, for school children no less, during a time of pandemic.
Scott Maxwell has more.

Afterthought:
It’s one thing to relax restrictions.
It’s quite another to assume that the need for discretion is no more.
All the News that Fits, Vaccine Nation Dept. 0
At AL.com, Paul Gattis reports on doctors’ efforts to quell myths about and promote vaccination against COVID-19 in Alabama, the least vaccinated state in the country. It is an uphill battle.
Here’s an excerpt:
“I remember one particular elderly female who was literally trembling,” she said. “She was trembling because she knew COVID was running rampant but she started to cry because she was tuned in to some media stations and she was terrified of getting the vaccine because of all the reasons she felt that the vaccine would also be detrimental to her health. So therefore, an innocent human being was just paralyzed for making a decision for herself.”

The Arizona Republic’s E. J. Montini has a question.
I say “all of a sudden” because, for as long as I can remember, Arizona has required proof of all kinds of vaccines for school kids.
This new idea about “choice,” however, is only for the COVID-19 vaccine.
Why is that?

Vaccine Nation: A Doctor’s Story 0
AL.com has a lengthy report on one Alabama doctor’s experiences in treating COVID-19 patients in the least vaccinated state in the nation. She reports that, as she prepares to intubate new patients, they often ask for the vaccine, and she has to tell them, “I’m sorry, it’s too late.”
Here’s a tiny little bit; follow the link for the rest.
“And the one question that I always ask them is, did you make an appointment with your primary care doctor and ask them for their opinion on whether or not you should receive the vaccine? And so far, nobody has answered yes to that question.”
