Blind Feith 1

Professor Cole dissects a Bushie’s lies.

Feith came on Wolf Blitzer’s Situation Room Friday and told three lies, for all the world as though he were still in a position to manufacture reality for the rest of us to study, however judiciously. Here is the transcript with the lies corrected.

It’s worth reading to see how machinations of the Bush war machine.

So we can try to stop it the next time.

Abu Zubayda was debriefed to this effect in 2002, and Khalid Shaikh Muhammad confirmed it on his capture in spring of 2003. Feith as the number 3 man in the Pentagon cannot have been unaware of what they were telling interrogators. He is therefore lying.

Everyone has their own standard of proof, and this quote shows me the difference between Cole’s and mine. “Cannot have been unaware” is an assumption I would have been unwilling to make in attacking someone’s character. I might have said the circumstances look suspcious; I might have said I would want to hear Feith (or whoever) answer some questions about this, but I would not have wanted to spend my credibility calling this a lie.
