In James Taranto’s "Best of the Web" weekday newsletter from the Wall Street Journal, he has oddly worded headlines every day. One of his best talents is spotting headlines that, read with no context, you have to question why they would even be news, like for instance from South Jersey News Online on May 6:
"No Evidence Found That a Boat Sank in Delaware"

"40 of Steel Reserve" ??Â
I do know what MD 20/20 is & it’s to be avoided at all costs. That stuff makes people mean.

Second Son: you don’t want to see Chris drunk. I’ve seen the pictures and it’s not pretty.
And I’m not kidding. Do you still have them, Karen?

One thing I learned long ago. Don’t mix a six-pack of Schlitz and a bottle of Mother’s Vineyards Scuppernong Wine.
That was back when Schlizt was a beer, rather than canned horse–oh, never mind.

Yeah, as a matter of fact, I do. Thanks to Ghost, Norton 360, & the external hard drive, they survived the crash.
