Those who consider wind farms to be unsightly have likely never seen an oilfield.

Or smelled one.
I’ve been to Houston & to Sweetwater. (Yes, there is such a city in west Texas.) Oilfields in both places.
And both places stink to high heaven. Even with my nose & I can’t even smell cigarettes.

Frankly, I think wind farms have sort a majestic industrial grace. There’s one off the Pa. Turnpike near Somerset that I used to see on my regular trips to western Pa.
And that thing about endangering birds is no longer valid is probably overstated. Here’s an interview with a birder which seems fairly balanced–the key consideration seems to be care in choosing a location.
