Bachmann Spinwheels 2

Michael Smerconish, himself a representative of shrinking tribe, that of sane conservatives, thinks that Michelle Bachmann is more than a representative.

He thinks she’s a representative representative. A nugget:

Bachmann epitomizes what the Congress has become: polarized, pugilistic, and pernicious. She leaves with no legislative accomplishments, unless one considers obstructionism an achievement.

There’s that HPV vaccine thing I whined about a couple weeks ago. Thanks to people like the Bachmann/GOP, it’s almost been tossed in the US while a country that used it immediately, Australia, has seen a substantial health benefit. I worked the census in 2010. Bachmann told people, in the news, the census was unconstitutional. It is noot — it is written right into the constitution. My unit’s job was to go out and contact, in person, non-filers and census resisters. Thanks to people like Michelle Bachmann and Fox News, which our group considered an enemy, non-filers weren’t just people who forgot to do it, they were people who were irritated and wanted to give you an earful on the tyranny of it and how their rights were being violated in having to tell you how many people lived at their address.

Some sites that I link to may try to track you, but that's between you and them, not you and me.

I do collect statistics, but I use a simple stand-alone Wordpress plugin, not third-party services such as Google Analitics over which I have no control.

Finally, this is website is a hobby. It's a hobby in which I am deeply invested, about which I care deeply, and which has enabled me to learn a lot about computers and computing, but it is still ultimately an avocation, not a vocation; it is certainly not a money-making enterprise (unless you click the "Donate" button--go ahead, you can be the first!).
