Stray Thought 4

I don’t get to see the Phillies much on local television.

The media seem to think that everyone in these parts roots for the Nats or the Birds (as I understand it, a nat is a small flying insect that is often consumed by birds and dragonflies).

But I got to see them beat the Nats tonight. It was most enjoyable.

The first time I drove through Connecticut on my way to Boston, I was taken aback by how pretty it is, and how varied.

Previously, I had just seen it from the train, which hugs the coast (also pretty, but not varied).

Never been to the new ball park, but I did get to see Mike Schmidt hit a game-ending solo homer at the Vet one time.
