“Caring for the poor and the ill is an ethical, spiritual and moral mandate.” Not according to Jesus of America. You’re in the wrong country, buddy. Listen to the sermon, sing the song. The rabble will not be answered or see the light from his holy mountain. Selah.

Pretty much. Republicans worship no Jesus that I know, no Jesus of the Gospels.
When I was in college, I had a friend who was raised Catholic. One weekend, he decided to lock himself in his room and read the Gospels.
When he was done, he emerged saying, “He was not what I was taught. Not at all.”
Republicans worship the “Not at all.”
