Smitten and Bitten 0

Anyone who has looked into it has figured out that bitcoins are a mug’s game. Meet some mugs.

From August to December 2014, the SEC alleges in its complaint Garza sold $20 million worth of shares in a digital mining contract he called a Hashlet through his digital bitcoin mining companies GAW Miners and ZenMiner. But those companies did not own enough computing power to solve the problems. Garza and his companies sold far more computing power than they owned, so some investors received proceeds generated from sales to other investors.

“An Armed Society Is a Polite Society” 0

There appears to have been an outbreak of politeness in Cali.

Addendum:

If you want the best coverage of the developing story, follow the Guardian’s live feed.

And weep that the United States is an international laughingstock for its inability to stop the bloodletting.

Pick a qualified teacher for your lesson in politeness.

A friend was showing a 35-year-old Conestoga man how to clean a handgun at a Columbia-area shooting range when it fired, critically injuring the man Thanksgiving Day, police said.

(snip)

“A friend was attempting to show the victim the proper use of and how to break down and clean a handgun when it accidentally discharged,” the sergeant said. “The friend felt (!–ed.) the gun was clear and free of any bullets.”

“Sadly, this is how many accidental shootings take place, when they feel the gun is empty and attempt to clean it,” Geier said.

Above the Law offers a primer on how to tell the difference between a refugee and a terrorist. Here’s a bit (emphasis in the original):

4. Could the person’s immediate problems be solved with a sandwich and fresh linens?

Refugee.

Terrorists have goals, refugees have needs. . . .

The hunt for politeness continues apace.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says the accident happened about 3 p.m. Saturday while 11 family members were hunting deer on 50 acres of woods and fields behind a home in Hudson.

A 34-year-old Wolcottville man was shot below the right cheekbone when two hunters who were standing next to each other fired several times at three deer that were running toward the middle of the field. He was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in serious but stable condition Sunday.
