Satchel Paige:

Avoid fried meats which angry up the blood.
If your stomach disputes you, lie down and pacify it with cool thoughts.
Keep the juices flowing by jangling around gently as you move.
Go very light on the vices, such as carrying on in society—the social ramble ain’t restful.
Avoid running at all times.
And don’t look back—something might be gaining on you.

A Modest Proposal 0

At AL.com, Alabama Republican John Meredith has a suggestion for the Republican Party:

If Republicans want to stop socialism, perhaps we should stop attacking Bernie Sanders and enact policies that ease the burden on working families. Until that happens, socialism is the only way many Americans will ever be economically free to pursue happiness.

Afterthought:

Given the similar wording in the twits Farron cites, one must needs wonder to what extent they may have been of robotic genesis.

Introduce children to politeness at an early age.

At about 3:30 p.m. Friday, Emahleeah was having a snack in her bedroom on the second floor of her family’s apartment at 42 Summer St. when a drive-by shooter targeted the building, according to police.

A bullet remained lodged Sunday in one Emahleeah’s vertebrae. It missed her spinal cord by about an inch, according to her father.

Thus passeth another day in the NRA’s Garden of Bleedin’.

Words – so innocent and powerless as they are, as standing in a dictionary, how potent for good and evil they become in the hands of one who knows how to combine them.
