“Forced Busing,” Redux 0

Methinks Noz has a point.

Aside:

For those of you who don’t know that “forced busing” was, here’s a look back.

Of course, when I was growing up in the segregated South, it wasn’t “forced busing” when I was bused past the all-black school to go to the all-white school. It was just the way things were.

Oliver Heaviside:

We do not dwell in the Palace of Truth. But, as was mentioned to me not long since, “There is a time coming when all things shall be found out.” I am not so sanguine myself, believing that the well in which Truth is said to reside is really a bottomless pit.

The State Race 0

Caption: Race to be the most embarrassing state in the union.

Will Bunch looks into the reasons behind the race. Here’s a bit of his article:

But a place like DeSantis’ Florida, which has become a kind of laboratory for the mad science of post-Trump neo-fascism, isn’t only attacking so-called woke corporations like Disney with the heavy, blunt object of punishing their free speech. Republicans pushing dark censorship in the so-called Sunshine State also want to pull up the very roots of “woke corporations” — which is any schooling that might have taught these people to embrace diversity and fairness in the first place. At the risk of verbally sinking to their crude level, DeSantis seems to be “grooming” Florida’s kids … to be stupid.

In this age of influencers, an “influencer” shows us, once again, that “social” media isn’t.

But it seems to be the one we are choosing.

Hilary Bettis:

If you and your children were starving, if you saw violence and murder every single day, and just on the horizon is a safe country where people are allowed to dream, can make a decent living, of course you would cross the border. Any mother or father in their right mind would. We need to have compassion for this.
