“An Armed Society Is a Polite Society” 0

Practice random acts of politeness.

Collegedale (Tennessee–ed.) police received the call from this trailer park on Mendoza Place. A woman with non-life threatening injuries after a stray bullet entered her home.

(Snip)

“If someone was out shooting, out hunting in the Collegedale area or taking target practice we would encourage them to give us a call and let us talk to them, . . .”

I suspect that the police don’t need to wait up for that call.

A .22 calibre bullet can travel over a mile. The practitioner of politesse likely has no idea of how far the influence of his politeness may reach.

I do collect statistics, but I use a simple stand-alone Wordpress plugin, not third-party services such as Google Analitics over which I have no control.

Finally, this is website is a hobby. It's a hobby in which I am deeply invested, about which I care deeply, and which has enabled me to learn a lot about computers and computing, but it is still ultimately an avocation, not a vocation; it is certainly not a money-making enterprise (unless you click the "Donate" button--go ahead, you can be the first!).
