Lessons Learned 2
Scott Maxwell tries to draw some lessons from Florida’s primary, which took place this week. I suspect that they apply to more places than just Florida.

In the latest migration to a new virtual private server, some of the links to images in the earliest posts to this blog were broken. If you encounter one of these broken links, please let me know. I have backups and can restore the images.
There’s only one person who agrees with me on everything, and, as I’m not running for office, that person is not on the ballot.

This website does not track you.
It contains no private information. It does not drop persistent cookies, does not collect data other than incoming ip addresses and page views (the internet is a public place), and certainly does not collect and sell your information to others.
Some sites that I link to may try to track you, but that's between you and them, not you and me.
I do collect statistics, but I use a simple stand-alone Wordpress plugin, not third-party services such as Google Analitics over which I have no control.
Finally, this is website is a hobby. It's a hobby in which I am deeply invested, about which I care deeply, and which has enabled me to learn a lot about computers and computing, but it is still ultimately an avocation, not a vocation; it is certainly not a money-making enterprise (unless you click the "Donate" button--go ahead, you can be the first!).
I appreciate your visiting this site, and I desire not to violate your trust.

It’s true. The fascist lunatics will win in November if the cosmetic pearl-clutchers and hand-wringers do what they usually do in an off year.

The folks on the left who anger me the most are the purists. “So-and-so doesn’t support this jot or that tittle, therefore both parties are alike and I’m sitting out the election in protest! Na na na.”
I ripped into one last night, using the 2000 election and the Nader voters as my example.
Not even Ivory soap claims to be 100% pure, but nothing less than 100% purity will satisfy them.
The other group which populates my anger-me-from-the-left list are the bozos who think the Presidential election is the only one that matters.
