I suspect Donald Trump’s not much of a reader so he probably missed any history on Lindbergh or, more recently, “The Plot Against America.” Dumb coincidence, stumbling into things, and his good fortune to come along at just the most propitious time seem to have more to do with it.
Plus you have to give the other side the potential for credit. He’ll be going up against someone almost custom-made for his style.

Trump is a pitchman. The thing is, though, there’s no coherence in what he’s pitching. (Well, he is pitching himself, and himself is incoherence personified.)
