Selfie politeness is the politest kind.

A 10-year-old boy is in serious condition at a Texas hospital after he was accidentally shot by a babysitter who was taking selfies while holding a gun, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said on Tuesday.

The report goes on to say that she thought the gun was unloaded. It leaves out the part about her being too stupid to make sure.

As all “responsible gun owners” (sic) know, politeness takes practice.

An 18-year-old from Festus was shot Sunday (Feb. 23) while he was changing targets at a shooting match at American Legion Post 253, 849 American Legion Drive, in Festus. It appeared to be an accidental shooting, Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis said.

“A young man who was changing targets ran out to the target area and was shot,” Lewis said. “The victim was shot in the left arm, left chest area. He took the full blast.”

Lewis said the victim suffered serious injuries from the shotgun blast . . . .

Yet another responsible gun owner cuts it a bit too close.

The shooting was reported at about 6:30 a.m. at a home on Oakcrest Circle, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office. Two men went to a convenience store then returned to the home. One prepared to cut the other’s hair.

The man who was going to have his hair cut sat down on a bucket outside his bedroom door. As he waited for the haircut, he started “playing with his firearm, as he always does,” the other man told deputies.

The gun then discharged, fatally wounding the man holding it.

Settle disputes politely.

Based on further investigation and interviews with witnesses, Nixon said investigators determined the man had gotten into an argument with another man and a 9 mm weapon was pulled.

“We determined the victim and his buddy were intoxicated and got into a physical altercation,” Nixon said. “A weapon was pulled out and accidentally discharged and hit him in the leg.”

The solution to preventing occurrences of this nature is, of course per the NRA, more guns. No doubt, had two portable instruments of male enhancement been pulled, no legs would have been shot.

Also, pigs, wings.

More child’s play.

“After follow-up interviews and investigation we have determined that the child was shot by accident,” (Deputy Chief–ed.) Agee said Monday afternoon. “Those involved admitted that a 16-year-old boy who lives in the neighborhood was playing with a gun when it fell and discharged striking the child in the back. This appears to be an accident and no criminal charges will be pursued.”

Just another day in the NRA’s Garden of Bleedin’.

Have your pizza with a side of politeness.

The woman was standing in line when the customer behind her dropped a .22 caliber pistol with a rat shot in it, and she was hit.

A rat shot is also known as a bird shot/snake shot/dust shot. It is small ammunition, typically used for pest control at close range, and is not very powerful.

Be polite to your friends.

Police were investigating what appeared to be the murder of a 24-year-old man. He was killed by a gunshot wound to the head, officials said.

Investigators are now saying the shooting was accidental. The 22-year-old man accused of pulling the trigger is a registered CPL holder who was showing off a new handgun, according to authorities.

He didn’t realize the gun was loaded until it went off, killing his friend, police said.

One more time, “responsible gun owner” is an oxymoron.
