Yet another “responsible gun owner” exposes his portable phallus to a child.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Toomey and the victim were working on a vehicle in the driveway when Toomey placed an unsecured gun on the front steps of the house. A 3-year-old family member found the firearm and discharged it, striking the victim in the arm. The injured man was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Be polite to your friend.

“Kueker got into the backseat of a vehicle and fell asleep. His acquaintance, after realizing Kueker had fallen asleep, approached the car unarmed and with the use of a walker. Kueker awakened and saw a figure standing outside the window of the car. At this time, he fired one shot through the car window.”

Once again, politeness become child’s play.

Once again, we are reminded that “responsible gun owner” is a oxymoron.

But he was just backpacking his heat:

An SAPD spokesperson said the 31-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound to his upper left arm when another man dropped his backpack that reportedly had a gun inside. The gun then went off, striking the victim and injuring him.

Once again, politeness becomes child’s play.

The caller reported a 5-year-old bleeding from his leg.

According to HCSO, Park Rangers and EMS arrived, it was discovered the child was left in a family car when he began playing with a firearm.

The 5-year-old fired off a round, grazing his leg.

One more time, “responsible gun owner” is an oxymoron.

And far too many morons own guns.

At Psychology Today Blogs, Carolyn Reinach Wolf finds a straw at which to grasp. Here’s a teaser:

After years of school shootings, a shift has finally emerged in how we as a country, and crucially the legal system, perceives the accountability of gun owners, specifically parents. Colin Gray, father of the 14-year-old who killed four people and injured nine others in the latest massacre at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder, four counts of involuntary manslaughter and eight counts of cruelty to children.

(snip)

What happens next is uncertain, but we’ve already seen a major shift in legal precedent. Earlier this year, two separate juries in Michigan found the parents of a school shooter guilty of manslaughter after prosecutors showed they not only purchased the weapon he used in the shooting for their son and failed to secure it, but also ignored numerous warnings from the school and cries for help from their own child.

The stupid.

The shot rang out on September 15 inside the Costco location near Kalamazoo on Century Avenue.

The firearm was inside a woman’s purse when it went off.

The gun’s legal owner was shot in her hand, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office.

It burns.

Addendum:

The gun that went off inside a Costco near Kalamazoo was a Michigan State Police officer’s state-issued service weapon, authorities say.

The MSP officer, whose name was not released, was off duty Sunday when the gun “accidentally discharged” from inside her purse at the Costco on Century Avenue off Michigan Avenue in Oshtemo Township.

Words fail me.

On second thought, no, they don’t.

Guns do not “accidentally” discharge, but they can, indeed, “negligently” discharge.

“Accidentally” and “negligently” are not synonyms.

And, again, politeness becomes child’s play . . . .

On Saturday night, 8-year-old Phillip’e Woodward accidentally shot and killed himself with a loaded shotgun he was playing with in his grandmother’s house.

One more time, “responsible gun owner” is an oxymoron.
