Let politeness accompany you to your place of education.

Afterthought:

One wonders whether this alert teacher thwarted a(nother) school shooting.

The hunt for politeness continues apace.

Officials said the group shot a deer. Sunset was at 7:40 p.m. and they were out looking for the deer they shot, according to authorities.

When darkness set in around 8 p.m., the group still had their weapons out, police said. Koach said the stepfather fired a shot that struck the 11-year-old boy.

“At this point, shots were fired,” Koach said. “They thought they were shooting at a deer and one of the rounds hit the young man.”

One more time, “responsible gun owner” is an oxymoron.

At the Hartford Courant, John C. Hall describes what he felt when packing heat, which may be best described as “the cycle of politeness.” Here’s a bit:

I recall thinking, “As long as I have this gun, nobody can mess with me.”

(snip)

Then I wondered: How many other people have guns? Probably a lot. With guns in my world, and especially when I was holding a loaded gun in my hands, my imagination quickly inhabited a world that was scarier, more criminal and more violent. So while holding a gun is rather thrilling at first, over time, guns did not make me feel safer.

Politeness is a family value.

A Florida resident is in jail and facing murder charges after telling police he killed his mother after an argument about orange juice, an air conditioner remote control and the use of her vehicle.

A 29-year-old man named Luis Martin Pages shot his 59-year-old mother, Miriam Gonzalez, to death at 5:22 p.m. on Sunday evening in their shared North Miami home after the two argued.

The hunt for politeness continues.

About 20 club members were hunting white-tailed deer. This group including Howard and the 30-year-old woman who shot him.

Howard and the woman were dropped off near a wood at an open field — about 150 yards from each other — when a short time later a buck ran across the field between the two, DNR said.

The woman shot at the deer twice, but one of those shots struck Howard in the chest.

You’ve heard of “packing heat”? Now there’s unpacking heat.

Musical NotesGuns and stupid, guns and stupid.
They go together like love and Cupid.
Let me tell you brother,
You can’t have one without the other.

Methinks that, in the following excerpt, “handling” is a polite way of saying “fondling lascivously.”

I’ll stop there.

Police said their investigation revealed that a 38-year-old man was handling a gun in a bedroom while she (a ten-year old girl–ed.) was in an adjoining bathroom. While he was holding the gun, it went off, striking the girl. The girl’s 35-year-old mother was also in the bedroom with the 38-year-old, but she was not injured.

And, reputably, yet another gun that went off on its ownsome (something, by the way, that guns don’t do).

Afterthought:

I have two daughters.

Disgust wells up within me.

There are not enough books to throw at this clown.

Be polite to your siblings.

The siblings had been out to dinner that evening and had been drinking when the brother took out the pistol, which had been recently purchased, Burke said.

The man thought the gun was unloaded and said he doesn’t recall what happened.

“He’s not sure how or why the gun went off,” Burke said.

Let me enlighten him.

The gun went off because he pulled the trigger while pointing the gun at another person.

This stuff isn’t rocket science, for Pete’s sake.

Fuffu.

If the two-year old had been packing, perhaps he could have defended himself from the three-year old.

Once again, we are reminded that “responsible gun owner” is an oxymoron.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim inside the home with a gunshot wound to her leg, police reported.

A 41-year-old man told authorities he had been cleaning his gun when it accidentally fired, according to police.

She did not make it.

A 16-year-old boy accidentally killed himself with a family member’s handgun while video-chatting with a friend at his home in New Sharon on Monday, according to police and press reports.

(snip)

The friend who was chatting with the boy noticed something was not right during the interaction. The friend and their father went to the home and found the boy deceased, Nichols said.

Words fail me.

Give politeness a whirl.

The 14-year-old unidentified teen was babysitting his nephew, identified as two-year-old Romere Harris, and his one-year-old niece when the incident took place shortly before 8 p.m. EDT Wednesday. Investigation revealed the boy was twirling the gun when it discharged and struck Harris. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries. The niece was not injured in the incident.

Open the door to politeness.

Once again, we are reminded that “responsible gun owner” is an oxymoron.

With an emphasis on the “moron.”
