Harry Litman drills through the smokescreen to explain the NRA’s definition of the second amendment (and that of its dupes, symps, and fellow-travelers) and suggests its not about the right to hunt, target-shoot, and, if necessary, to protect, but rather about the right to intimidate.

Police believe the toddler found the gun in Byers’ purse, which she kept there for protection. According to investigators, the boy told officers he does have a green toy gun, so he may have thought Byers’ gun was also a toy.

Yet another responsible gun owner (sic) hunts politely.
Just before 5 p.m., the child was turkey hunting with his parents southeast of Roxbury (Kansas–ed.).
Detective Doug Anderson says another adult hunter in the area, who was not with their group, shot at what he thought was a turkey. It turns out he was shooting a decoy that the boy was standing near.
