Do not let politeness go to waist.

The 25-year-old man told deputies he forgot he had a gun concealed in his waistband, and as he was changing clothes, the weapon dropped out of his waistband and onto the floor and discharged, striking him in the foot, sheriff’s officials said.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.

musical noteGuns and stupid, guns and stupid,
They go together like love and Cupid.
Let me tell you, brother,
You can’t have one without the other.

Steven M., watching Bret Stephens enthuse about him in the New York Times, suggests that Mike Bloomberg has found his base. A snippet:

That’s Bloomberg’s natural constituency: #NeverTrump Republicans, of whom there are more in the media than in the population at large.

Robert B. Parker, in the voice of Susan Silverman:

Being tough means looking straight at something ugly and saying, “That’s ugly; I’ll have to find a way to deal with it.” And doing so.

Practice brotherly politeness.

At around 7 p.m. officers were called to the Colorado Springs Fire Department Station 8 for an adult female who had arrived there with a gunshot wound to her foot, according to the police report.

Officers learned that the woman was home when her brother was allegedly cleaning his handgun and accidentally shot her.

Looking Stuff Up Is Important 0

I’m currently listening to The Mystery of 31 New Inn by R. Austin Freeman, who is distinguished as the first mystery novelist to employ forensic science in his novels.

All the Librivox audio books are read by volunteers. In this particular reading, reference is made to Trichinopoly cigars (those of you who have read The Canon may recall references to them).

The volunteer who reads this chapter refers to them as try-KEEN-o-poh-ly cigars.

Words fail me.

(Otherwise, the reader does an excellent job.)
