Politeness is an integral component of marital bliss.

(Sheriff’s Deputy–ed.) Renard, 63, is charged with murder. His wife, Patricia Spivey, 52, was shot to death at their home on Briscoe Street over the weekend.

Court records show Spivey called 911 at about 3 a.m. Sunday to request an ambulance, saying he and his wife had fought over a gun, and he accidentally shot her.

Many people tend to believe everything that appears on a printed page, no matter how questionable the vehicle or how outrageous the statement.

At The Roanoke Times, Megan Doney sums up gunnuttery. A snippet:

Guns make fearful people feel powerful, and those people do not care at all what price others pay for their ersatz confidence.

Bargain-basement politeness.

A gunman described as a disgruntled Walmart employee has fatally shot two co-workers and wounded a police officer before he was shot and arrested at a Walmart store in northern Mississippi.

(snip)

Abram, a Southaven resident, had been suspended from the store in recent days after he showed a knife to a co-worker. A police report had been filed, but Champion said Abram didn’t appear to have threatened the co-worker and criminal charges weren’t being pursued.

Thus passeth another day in NRA paradise.

Misdirection Play? Twits on Twitter Dept. 0

David suggests that focusing on Trump’s tweets, such as the recent tirade about Baltimore and Rep. Elijah Cummings, awful as they are, serves to distract from the concrete damage Trump and his lackeys are doing to governance and the polity. Methinks his argument is worth a listen.
